I found a great summer read “Karma is my Bitch” by a brand new author. Her name is C. Chic and she is one of my fabulous fashion buds If it is passion and surprises you are looking for ( and if you are a single woman who isnt ?) this is the read for you. The fashionistas and the luxe life of the Windy City are portrayed by a group of high fashion, hip, urban characters. But the exploits of this group rival the delicious characters that populated television in the grand era of Dallas and Dynasty.
The heroine of the piece is Maria, a feisty girl who hails from Miami and moves to Chicago. She pulls herself up from the ghetto and manages to land in high society. But her journey is bittersweet, the man she loves has been sleeping with several women. Maria decides to take her power back and get her life back on track.
This book shows that women can be strong and they can triumph. They dont have to be at the mercy of a man or be his slave. It was a book I couldnt put down and cant wait for the next book from this new and dynamic author.
