Viva La Posada!

To all the amigas y amigos I want to wish them Feliz Navidad y Prospero Anos de Felicidad.  Last night , I participated in a wonderful Mexican tradition called “La Posada.”  Posada is when the Holy Family goes from house to house asking if there is a place for them.  The answer is usually no, until the last house where there is la musica, food , and the pinata. Our Lady of Mercy Parish played the part of the pilgrims as they asked for shelter. It was fun to sing in Spanish , something I have not done that much since high school.  Besides the party , we had an extra special treat. JoEmma Domini serenaded us in English and Spanish. She has an extraordinary coloratura (high soprano voice)  and is beautiful inside as well as outside.  The children of Our Lady of Mercy parish also entertained us with native dances of Mexico with beautiful colorful costumes. Our genial emcee was our own Father Manny.  Everyone had a bien tiempo.
